  24. THIS UPDATE ONLY AFFECTS THE DIRECT3D VERSION OF REQUIEM: 
  25. AVENGING ANGEL.
  26.  
  27. -This update enables dithering in the Direct3D version of
  28. Requiem: Avenging Angel for greatly improved visual quality;
  29. game textures will appear smoother.
  30.  
  31. -Additionally, this update disables auto-mipmapping; all textures
  32. in Requiem: Avenging Angel were designed to look best without 
  33. the use of mipmaps.
  34.  
  35. -In essence this patch greatly improves visual quality on all
  36. 3D accelerators cards running in D3D mode.

  39. 2)    Installation
  40.  
  41. Double click on the "Req_1_1.exe" file. This will create the folder,
  42. "ReqUpdate", on your "Desktop". Open the "ReqUpdate" folder and 
  43. double-click the "ReqUpdate.exe" file. The program will search for
  44. Requiem: Avenging Angel on your hard drive. Once this is applied, 
  45. follow the instructions below to verify that Requiem: Avenging 
  46. Angel was patched correctly.

  48. Go to Start | Find | Files and folders. Type D3D.exe in the 
  49. "Named" line and in the "Look in" line make sure that C:\ drive 
  50. is selected, and select "Find Now".
  51.  
  52. You can check the version number of the new "D3D.exe" file by 
  53. right-clicking on the file, choosing Properties, clicking on the 
  54. Version tab. The file version number should be "1.1".
